I wasn’t honest with myself…
I felt like I was at the apex of life. I had an amazing and supportive husband, 12 successful years as a business leader, a supportive family, great relationships, a beautiful home, and so much more. At times, I felt guilt realizing I had all of what I needed and most of what I wanted.
I thought nothing could be missing. Then I heard that voice. The reality is deep down inside I knew I was hiding something…
For years I’ve had a secret love affair.
I’ve tried to end it countless times to no avail. I had small victories with ending the affair in the past but as soon as something happened, I ran back to the familiar.
But, 2 ½ months ago everything changed. I heard that still small voice loudly saying, “Nicole, it’s time to end this romance.” I resisted and tried to silence the voice by saying, “I’ll end it next week, next month, or next year.” I’ve said this many times, but I knew this time something was different.
I wanted to end it. I just didn’t know how.
I walked into a gym, something I hadn’t done in 5 years. I knew the affair was over. The pleasure, protection, and passion I had for food was ending. I was faced with the huge reality that while I have an amazing life, I would never fully enjoy it if I didn’t have my health.
I surrendered!
I was introduced to an amazing trainer at Revfit named Sandra Lejeune and the rest was history. At first sight, her commitment to her health and her body was evident. It was also a little intimidating. I shared my fitness goals and she customized a plan that combined food selections and a regimen to support my goals.
I then embarked upon a journey as a student to learn from the mentor that was placed in my life. When I saw her before and after pictures, I knew I could trust her with my health. I could see the tangible results she created in her own life and I knew she could and would hold me accountable to creating the results I desired.
This process has been grueling, demanding, and challenging at times. It’s also been invigorating, rewarding, and fruitful! I’m grateful for the entire process. I’m also thankful to know that I’ll be able to enjoy the many blessings in my life with being a healthier me.
So, you may be asking Nicole what does this have to do with me and my business? Everything!
Right now, we’re all setting goals with the hope that 2018 is going to be different, right? The reality is whether we are setting goals centered around fitness, relationships, finance, or business we all need support. You need support. You see, I’d been trying to lose that baby fat for quite some time (the baby is 17!
Looking great, Nicole! All the dedication and hard work has paid off for a healthier YOU.
